Which is better Ceramic Vs Teflon Vs Stainless Steel confused when you are about to purchase cookware. Everybody knows nonstick property is the first thing you need to look for but what about the rest of the cookware properties?
Ceramic, stainless steel and Teflon are three basic types which can prove to be useful for you. But the real confusion battle in your mind starts when all three of them seem pretty good but you only have to choose one.

Your Recipe Isn’t All You Need

You may know all the ingredients used to make the perfect dish but things might go wrong if you are using the wrong cookware (the wrong type or the wrong size). Smart cooking methods all come along with smart cookware. That is why you need to have quality cookware to do it right and in the most efficient manner.

Types of Cookware Used Normally

Stainless steel, Teflon and Ceramic are the most famous types of cookware. Moreover, I have seen that when you have to cook a food with delicacy, you choose Teflon or Ceramic.

The reason behind this is that, these two types of cookware are non-stick. On the other hand, preferring to use Stainless steel as a kitchen helper then, it can benefit you in numerous ways. However, the battle between these three types still goes on. This battle is known as ‘Ceramic Vs Teflon Vs Stainless Steel’.

We have a guide for you that will let you know about all the queries you have on these three cookware types. In order to get more details on this comparison, keep on reading. We will compare all three of them which will help you choose the best one according to your needs.

Ceramic Vs Teflon cookware

When it comes to discussing ceramic cookware Vs teflon cookware , the most prominent difference between these two is providing the best non-stick coating. About Teflon, when you heat it to a certain temperature, it starts to emit vapors that are harmful. A lot of people who like it better cooking with high heat. Cooking on Teflon, with high heat, can ignite the toxic fumes which points out the use of ceramic cookware.

When the discussion of ceramic coating comes to mind, is built with lead, PFOA (Perfluorooctanioc acid), cadmium (it is a silvery-white metal), and PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene). We have all heard of the GreenPan, the ceramic coating like Thermolon is used in it and it is built with natural minerals.

This means, there is no danger for the toxic fumes to come out from the ceramic cookware. It often comes a time when the food we eat contains some toxic bits. But, while cooking with ceramic cookware, there is no chance of digesting these toxic bits.

The conclusion from all this is that, these two cookware types are both with non-stick coating but, the coating material is different in each of them. However, the weak point of these two cookware is pretty much the same and its short lifespan.

The best part about these two is the coating, and the coating can wear off from time to time which is disappointing. When the non-stick coating wears off, the food starts to stick. Also, the Teflon coating can start to flake or peel and when that happens, it becomes totally useless.

To work with these two cookware types, it is essential to use wooden or silicone utensils. However, there are some professionals who believe that using metal utensils is safe. Metal utensils are usually safe for ovens but, the verge of the temperature can cause a change in them.

There are some cookware models that you can wash in a dishwasher, but I will recommend to wash these two cookware types by hand. However, all of the above said paragraphs still don’t clear the massive confusion between Ceramic Vs Teflon Vs Stainless steel.

Ceramic Vs Stainless Steel Cookware

The biggest difference between stainless steel cookware and ceramic cookware is that, one of them is non-stick and the other one is not. When we talk about Ceramic cookware, it is important to keep the temperature in tact to protect the non-stick coating from peeling off. On the other hand, Stainless steel is powerful than any other cookware and is able to take almost anything.

The best thing about stainless steel is that you can use it with metal utensils as well and you will not to worry about it peeling off or scratching it. You can use it even with the broiler and the oven and it would be best if it came with a full stainless steel lid or handle.

When it comes to starters, it is best for them to cook with a ceramic pan. The reason behind this is that, they won’t have to worry about the food sticking or whatever. The best thing about food not sticking is that it will be easier to wash it.

But Wait…
Let’s not forget about the fact that you eventually will have to learn how to cook with a stainless steel pan. However, when you are cooking the type of food that you should be cooking on a non-stick pan, then despite it sticking, you will notice some other errors.

When the food finally starts to stick, then there is a lot of cleaning for you to do. However, there are some ways that can help to get rid of the food that gets stuck on the stainless steel pan but, it isn’t as simple as washing a ceramic pan.
If you are a person who use stainless steel, know this: You need to use more oil while cooking. However, on on a ceramic pan, you can do it even with a minimum amount of oil.

Although, cooking with a ceramic pan can require a replacement every 1 to 2 years. The winner here is the stainless steel pan. It is durable and the quality depends on the model you choose.

Furthermore, Ceramic Vs Teflon Vs Stainless steel has become a major battle. All three of these cookware types provide massive benefits but, each cookware is unique in its own way. It is important for one to make sure to choose whatever suits their type of cooking.

All of these three cookware types are different and provide different benefits that is why the battle of Ceramic Vs Teflon Vs Stainless Steel still proceeds.

Now, it’s time to discuss Ceramic Vs Teflon Vs Stainless Steel cookware

Each of these have their own specifications and their own uses. It can be a great option to make scrambled eggs with a ceramic or Teflon pan. Both of these types are best when it comes to cooking delicate food. You can also cook fish with one of these pans.

However, we all are not professionals but, we do have common sense. We know that we should not cook some foods on a non-stick pan. Those kinds of foods that demand only medium to low heat would be best for non-stick. Ceramic Vs Teflon Vs Stainless Steel is like a discussion that will take forever to reach to a conclusion.

However, one can use a stainless steel pan when one has to stir fry, sear or brown some food. You can even cook it with high heat without the fear of burning it. Ceramic Vs Teflon Vs Stainless Steel mainly depends upon the type of food.
Also, it is important to buy the Ceramic Vs Teflon Vs Stainless Steel from a highly recommended brand. A good quality pan will not even require high heat while cooking food.

Final Verdict

The conclusion from the discussion of Ceramic Vs Teflon Vs Stainless Steel is that, we don’t recommend one to spend too much money on a non-stick cookware because it does not last long. Teflon and Ceramic both provide non-stick coating but, it does not last long. Budget is a bigger preference when it comes to cooking privileges.

  1. Thanks for the follow. I only cook with stainless and cast iron. I really love cast iron and use it to sautee and sometimes cook in a large iron pot. Mine were handed down from a grandmother then my mother and then on to me. I have bought two pieces at estate sales. It is very easy to scrub and rinse and then I put the pot or skillet on a burner to dry it thoroughly. It also vey easy to keep “seasoned.” It is no trouble at all.

  2. Stainless steel and cast iron materials are what I have been using and continue to like using. I enjoyed reading this post. Thanks for the follow.
